Fast Forward FFOHD1S Omega HD, HD-SDI / SDI Recorder - Single Channel

The Fast Forward FFOHD1S Omega HD deck is a HD-SDI / SDI broadcast quality single channel digital video recorder using high quality, lossless JPEG2K compression. The Omega HD will record 8.3 hours of HD-SDI footage on the standard 500GB SATA hard drive. Larger drive options are available.
Features include eight channels of embedded audio per HD video channel, 4 AES3/EBU audio channels per video channel and Gigabit Ethernet file download. Omega HD options include either single or dual-channel configurations and standard record or simultaneous record and playback. The LED panel provides access to the record and playback settings.
The Omega HD delivers all the advantages of high definition images and the random access non-linear benefits of hard-disk media. The Omega HD is the ideal replacement for standard definition DVRs and analogue tape decks.
J2K codec
The Omega HD uses a J2K codec that offers a number of advantages over competing products:
- Better image quality at the same file size
- 25%–35% smaller file sizes at comparable image quality
- Lossless compression mode (identical to original image)
- Transparency and translucency (alpha-channel) support
- Up to 10 generations of post production without producing visual artefacts

record time is calculated at 1 GB per minute.

Fast Forward Omega HD and Grass Valley Turbo
